Dengue claims another life in the capital on Saturday. Lok Nayak Hospital, 38-year-old man was confirmed positive for the mosquito-borne disease, there died four days after being admitted.
A low platelet count in the blood Rizwaan death caused a serious infection, doctors said. On Friday, a nine-year-old girl municipal deaths due to dengue were reported.
The patient was admitted to the medical ward on September 25, Dr. Manju Mehra, Additional Medical Superintendent, Lok Nayak Hospital said. "He confirmed dengue serological test and he also had a urinary tract infection," she said.
Mehra said the patient's platelet count was falling steadily, and its capillaries eventually started bleeding, adding complications. Finally, around 7:00 pm on Saturday, he breathed his last.
